18 July 2008: The National Autistic Society has today voiced concerns that the Government's welfare reform proposals may mean thousands of people with autism miss out on crucial support.
A number of people have contacted The National Autistic Society (NAS) following a recent High Court ruling on a case between Bedfordshire County Council and the Haslam family and the subsequent press coverage. We are currently investigating the implications of the ruling.
The Department of Health has published an advertisement in the Guardian for the post of specialist advisor on autism. One of the key goals of our I Exist campaign, launched earlier this year, was that a specialist advisor was appointed to the Department.
